This is an authentic tooth from Richardoestesia, a small theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of North America, approximately 68–66 million years ago. Richardoestesia is known primarily from isolated teeth and jaw fragments — the genus remains somewhat enigmatic, with its exact phylogenetic placement still debated among paleontologists. Some researchers have suggested affinities with dromaeosaurids or troodontids, while others consider it a distinct lineage of small maniraptorans.

This specimen measures 0.39 inches, and has received no repairs or restoration. It was recovered from the Hell Creek Formation of Montana, one of the most intensively studied Late Cretaceous deposits in the world.
